    “Do you know what I love?” Asks Taehyung.

    Seokjin wonders if he's gonna talk about food or gayness or the secrets of the universe. “No.” He says. “What do you love?”

    “When I make a guy I like laugh.” Says Taehyung with the happiest smile. “Like, I’ve read all those romantics lines about girls laughing, you know, but making a boy laugh? Even better.” He looks at the bowl of batter and cocks his head to the side. “I think it looks okay?”

    “Boys laughing?” Asks Seokjin stupidly. For some reason he thinks about Namjoon; about how he can't help but turn to him when they’re laughing, about how Namjoon always turns to him, too.

    “No, the cake.”

    “Can you believe your parents have been married for twenty-five years?” Seokjin asked as they stopped at a red light and smiled in his husband’s direction. “Do you think we’ll get there?”

    “I’m sure we will.” It was cute how confident Namjoon sounded and the writer struggled to press a sound kiss on his cheek before going back to driving. “We have only twenty more years to go.”

    “Only twenty.” Jin repeated with a smirk. He couldn’t even imagine how different their life would look like twenty years from then. Taehyung was going to be twenty-four, he was probably going to be a college graduate and have his own, separate life. He liked to believe that he was still going to make time for dinner with them at least once or twice a week but there was no promise that was going to happen and because of that he felt some sort of strange melancholy.
