The two had infamously been at each other’s throats for years, taunts and teasing filling every interaction they had. In fact, the only thing either one of them couldn’t stand more than the other was the thing that came up most in both of their shows: soulmates. Dan in private didn’t believe in them, and Phil would change the subject every time he conveniently could.

He pushes his way through the crowd, attempting to reach the front from his place in the back; the pounding of the drums matching the beating in his ears, the fluorescent lights blinding him as he looks towards the stage through the waves of people.
Finally, the pit is in sight. He hasn't moshed in weeks. He felt antsy, he needed to jump. His adrenaline from the excitement made him able to ignore the aggressive sways of the crowd.
Shit, it’s tight in there. It must be over capacity. Definitely a fire hazard.He manages to make it up one more row, standing on the edge of the mosh, but he doesn’t even get to join in before he immediately feels a sudden elbow to his temple. The blow came with the full force of some PUNX dude who’s throwing his limbs around like the air in front of him owes him money. He can’t remember what happened after that.

They stare at each other. “We met in a pub having met online,” Dan says carefully. “We started chatting in the Reddit thread for Final Fantasy and found out we were basically neighbours, so we decided to meet up.”
“You never told me that part,” Molly says. “You’re like nerd soulmates.”
Phil smiles and nods, feeling like he’s going to vibrate out of his seat. Phil wishes they’d met on Final Fantasy Reddit. Everything would be so much easier if they had. But Dan is lying.
