Summary
Eddie’s forearms are streaked with grime, and there’s a faint smear of blood along the inside of his wrist—Buck’s blood, probably. His hair is plastered to his forehead with sweat and dust, a single line of dirt cutting down one temple where he must’ve wiped his face at some point. His jaw is clenched, mouth tight, but his eyes—God, his eyes. They’re darker than usual, rimmed with red, bloodshot, too bright. Like he’s been crying and pretending he hasn’t. Like he’s still half-lost in the chaos of the scene, like his mind and his heart haven’t caught up to his feet and realized he’s safe now. Home.
He looks like hell.
And Buck can’t stop staring.

Summary
It’s about a week after the funeral, when Eddie and Christopher are all settled in, that they’re cooking dinner (Buck as chef, Eddie as sous chef) and Eddie asks out of the blue, “Are you getting back together with Tommy?”
It’s literally the last thing Buck ever expected Eddie to ask, so it’s no surprise he drops the spoon he’s holding.

Summary
Living right across from James Barnes was certainly an experience, but a much different one than most people expect. A neighbour who is respectful, funny and brings you food every now and then is any girl's dream. Too bad you're only his neighbour and nothing else. Or, at least, that's what you thought.
One stormy night changes everything and discovering that you mean more to the Sargent than you expected has life-altering consequences.
