He stiffens, a tic the only thing breaking the silence. “It’s not- no one lives hu-here anymore.” Gaze trained on the floor, his weight lessened on Milo’s shoulder, tone eerily flat.
He must be imagining the figures shadowing the windows, then.
As he helps lead him to the mansion's path, the static gets louder. Closing his eyes, Milo’s breath hitches, hand squeezing around the man’s arm. Said limping man notices his wince, and though he's been avoidant, his gaze shifts.
"What is it? What's wrong?"
No, it wasn’t concern. He looks a bit… off now as Milo groans in pain, grabbing at his head. The building loomed closer, the lights of the windows swirling.A wet warmth drips down his lip.
“Ah- just a headache. I’ll- I’ll get you inside..” He hobbles along with you up the stone steps, leaning against a tree as he fumbles to pull keys out of his pocket.
"Headache, my ass... that's a nosebleed. Didn't think he’d actually-."Everything went black.
