The two boys across from him exchanged a glance. It was a glance that was choreographed and practiced, movement with meaning, something so obviously layered and familiar that Jisung felt lonelier just by seeing it. He’d always envied the people who knew each other so well that they could communicate without words.
Jisung was good with words, usually, if you let him write them down first. He imagined that that type of wordless communication was the closest thing humans had to mind-reading. He wanted to be known without needing to say it.
