Summary
Pomni isn’t sure what she expects. She definitely doesn’t expect to see Jax standing at the center of the stage, his back turned to the “audience” of the other humans, one hand hovering over his face.
“Jax!” Ragatha and Kinger call out, equally panicked. Gangle gasps. Zooble’s antennae twitch once. Pomni’s arms curl around her chest.
Then Jax turns.
“Whaaat?” he says, palms spreading outward. “Did you guys miss me that badly?”
(The day after the adventure that ended in Jax and Pomni's falling out, the humans are sent on yet another adventure. Everything seems fine...except that Jax is acting strange. Pomni is determined to get to the bottom of his odd behavior--no matter what.)
