Link has yearned for Zelda for so long, he can yearn a little longer.
Because that’s what this is, isn’t it? Yearning. It’s not his sense of duty as a royal swordsman, or concern as a friend. It’s deeper, more complicated, and it causes his heart to squeeze almost painfully– especially when he remembers the time he first discovered Zelda’s secret well, or the times he thought he caught a glimpse of her while he was investigating whatever latest strange phenomena had emerged from the depths. They were so close to each other, yet somehow not close at all.

It isn't until they're planning a mission to spring a Path informant from custody aboard a star cruiser that Bode remembers he still has an old Imperial uniform stashed away with his things. It's not much - just a set of dress whites and matching kit - but it might be enough to get him in and out of the cruiser undetected.
"Hey, just wanted to check and see if you're rea-" Cal's voice cuts off abruptly, and Bode turns to him standing there with a strained expression on his face, his cheeks burning bright red.
Or: Cal finds out he has an uniform kink, and Bode obliges... but not without teasing him about it first.
