The civilian laughs, helping the other women to their feet, “What are you, some kinda teenage assassin? Kid ninja?”
Duke can't help the bark of surprised laughter that's pulled from him, slumping the henchmen against the back of the cargo container with more force than necessary — which they deserve. His laughter hangs onto his words when he helps the rest of the women out the container one by one, heart tight and heavy when they take deep breaths of fresh air, despite the stench of Gotham's river. It, hilariously, smells like freedom.
“Nah, just a kid from the Narrows,” Duke says with warmth.
(The one day Duke decides to take a day off from being Signal — everything goes wrong.)

Summary
Johnny felt like he was burning from the inside out. Kyle's mouth was hot and sure against his, dragging helpless whimpers from somewhere deep in his chest. His skin buzzed under his clothes - hypersensitive, overwound - every scrape of Kyle's stubble made him twitch, made his spine arch and his hips desperate to buck forward. That drag of friction, the rasping sting of it on his lips, was maddening. It felt filthy.
And then - a rustle of fabric. The soft creak of movement.
Ghost still loomed opposite them, silent but intensely present. His shoulders were tense, arms folded tightly across his chest like he didn't quite trust them to stay at his sides. Next to him, Price took a slow sip of his drink like he'd seen this coming a mile off.
"You alright there, Simon?"
No answer.
But Price could see the restraint, the pure animal attraction that Simon was melting in, the way he desperately tried not to give in to the pull of the carnal lust of it all.
