His parents might be soulmates, but not everyone had one, and if they did, not everyone found them. While his parents treated their relationship as special and significant, all around him there were soulmate speed dating advertisements and television shows, gossip magazines about heroes and celebrities and their possible soulmates, movies about people faking being soulmates only for the real soulmate to arrive or deceiving someone with false scents.
Hitoshi had enough trouble with his classmates thinking he’d brainwash them to obey him. The last thing he needed was to find his soulmate and then have everyone think he had brainwashed them or, even worse, to accidentally do it somehow.

“What…?” Eijirou breathes.
The five year old sitting on Bakugou’s desk grins at them.
“Hi!” The girl waves cheerfully. Another child pokes his head out from where he’s hiding in Bakugou’s jaket.
“Dude...” Denki turns to Bakugou. “Where did you get the kids?”
The little girl’s previously innocent grin sharpens into something vaguely off putting, though still adorable.
“Katsu-nii kidnapped us for the day!” She tells them sweetly. “He promised us ice cream if we came with him.”
“What?!” Eijirou splutters. “You can’t just steal kids off the street!” He yells at Bakugou, before whirling on the girl. “And you can’t just take promises of ice cream from strangers!”
She pouts. “But he said we could get any toppings we wanted.”
“That doesn't- oh my freaking god-”
“Would you shut it?” Bakugou growls. “I didn’t fucking steal them. Little shits are my boyfriend's kids.”
Everyone in the room freezes.
“What?!”

Summary
Katsuki is 5 when everything starts to turn sour. He had gotten into a fight with another kid, it wasn’t his fault. The kid had pushed him down. And he got back up. He got back up because if he was going to be the number one hero he had to get back up. His mother is called into the school. She looks at him.. wrong.
Different.
She sours too.
The Bakugou’s had never been affectionate, Katsuki knows this and doesn’t mind it. It’s normal after all.
