What happens when a God dies?

So why was it only Remus who seemed trapped when Romulus died?

After Remus' mother and brother die in the same month, Remus is forced to live with his controlling father and way too happy step mother. He barely spends a month with them before he's sent to Red Wing Academy. Where he meets his *Stacey* and a boy who seems even better than Romulus.

Remus almost laughed at the statement but forced himself to glare at the man. Sirius cleared his throat and averted his gaze. It was a very awkward silence. Remus had a deep hatred for this kind of silence maybe that's why he said something he shouldn't have.
"We weren't even that lovey dovey." Remus said, gesturing to the couple who were packing their stuff.
"Yes we were!" Sirius retorted. "I bought you flowers and chocolate and-"
"Cocaine. I think Morphine too." Remus interrupted.
Sirius kept his mouth shut and sat back on the bench.
"You still like taking pictures." Sirius said, almost taking the camera out of Remus grip. Remus slapped his hand away in annoyance.
"I didn't allow you with my camera back then what makes you think I will now, Padfoot." Remus replied.
