Nagi tilted his head, his white hair peeking out from under his hood, and stared at Reo with his usual calm, unfocused gaze. Then, as if deciding something, he fixed his wide puppy-dog eyes on Reo and said... absolutely nothing.
Reo blinked, slightly taken aback. “You’ve been staring at me for like a full minute now. What is it?”
Nagi’s gaze softened even further, his lips curving into the faintest pout. Reo could practically feel his heart skip a beat. Why does he have to look so cute? he thought, shaking his head to clear it. But then, realization dawned.

“Hey, Reo,” Nagi says as they step out of the helicopter. “Isn’t this a bit… much?”
Reo offers Nagi a hand as he makes it down the final step. “What do you mean?”
“I mean,” Nagi says slowly, peering around at their surroundings. “I thought this was just, like a… a casual dinner, or something.”
“It is,” Reo says, a bit confused.
“Um,” Nagi says. “Reo, we just flew two hours in a helicopter to get here.”
Reo’s brows furrow. “Well, how else would we have gotten here?” He checks the time on his watch. “Ah, we should hurry. They’ll be bringing out the first dish soon.”

Otoya blanked. The other smacked him upside the head again.
“Ow!”
“Just makin’ sure yer brain still works.”
“It won’t if you keep doing that!” Otoya rubbed his head, “But yeah, it’s chill. Just don’t get a crush on me, okay?”
Next to him, Karasu stilled. Otoya was almost worried before he barked out a laugh.
“That won’t be a problem,” before Otoya could fire off a remark, he continued, “yer not my type anyway.”
Otoya blinked. Karasu continued eating like this wasn’t the most monumental moment of his best friend’s life.
