It was a bit like dating. “I’m a bit of a hot mess actually, I’m sleeping on my brother’s sofa because I don’t have anywhere to live, and I haven’t had a meaningful relationship in like, forever.” He leaned forward and said behind his hand “I’m bi so it really shouldn’t be this difficult -.” He looked up to see they were both staring at him. That was good, he was keeping them engaged. “I love kids. They love me. Where’s yours, by the way?”
Lan Xichen turned to Nie Mingjue, but Nie Mingjue just stared back, apparently fascinated by Wei Ying. Lan Xichen turned back to look at Wei Ying again.
“We -. I wonder if -. Perhaps you can tell us a little about your - experience?” He smiled. “With - children.” He added.
“You can see from my CV I don’t really have any.” Wei Ying gave them a huge smile.
