Summary
Elizabeth has lived in silence since childhood, certain that love and society have little place for a deaf woman. She has learnt to read lips, observe what others overlook, and hide her deepest fears behind wit and composure.
Then she meets Mr Darcy. Their first impressions could hardly be worse, but as mistrust gives way to affection, both must decide whether love can be stronger than fear, pride, and the expectations of their world.
