The wait was rewarding if he tricked his mind into thinking so. Pent up all day after working himself to exhaustion, only allowed to release when the fake sun chose to rest her fluorescent head behind programmed darkness. It was a good system, pushing him to the very best of his abilities until he couldn’t take it anymore. And even then, he forced it down. Forced it away. The pleading murmur muffled into a muted whisper.
This wasn’t about him.

“Wow. Neat,” Rody took another gulp; heart pounding again as he forced himself to drink. The faster he drank, the faster he got out of here- the faster he could get home to his (flooding) bathroom and relieve himself. He could conceivably ask to use Vincent’s toilet again- but what if the man assumed he’d already gone? What if he got suspicious? Hell, Rody was suspicious of him so who’s to say that Vincent wasn’t of the redhead as well?
