That damned dragon.
He rubs his eyes and lets out a frustrated sigh. It was his task to slay a dragon. It should be a simple task, and yet it’s proven to be more and more difficult.
Due to how the dragon gives him quite the number of feelings that he has deemed unnecessary, or the fact he can’t seem to kill the damn thing—Miles isn’t sure.
It’s probably a mixture of both, he thinks. And the fact that every time he ends up failing, Phoenix doesn’t seem fazed in the slightest. No, he just laughed in amusement, a laughter that leaves Miles feeling warm with an emotion he isn’t sure about.
It was just anger, most likely.
Yes, that was it. Anger. Anger that he can’t finish the task his mentor had given him, and anger due to the fact the beast haunted his mind every waking and non-waking moment.

After Miles's last encounter with Phoenix the dragon, he can't stop thinking about him. He tries to slay the dragon once and for all, but it does not go according to plan.
