It was clear that this attempt was unsuccessful. Donnie cursed and released the hindrance of the latch, lifting Lefty from the wretched contraption that had imprisoned him all night. Lefty, a feeble rogue, couldn't match his strength. There was no room for resistance beneath Donnie's furious arm, and Lefty resembled a sack of flour being tossed around. Donnie's face was near, their noses almost touching, and the young man's angry breath spewed onto Lefty's face.
