Carney’s eyebrows furrow together, as he tries to calm himself down, but he’s only a man. A man that wants– so, so much. But he can’t because the stakes are too high and he’s always been scared of doing the wrong thing. It was like the universe was having a laugh at him, dangling the fruit in front of him just to rip it away just before he reached for it.
