He needs to take all of Takumi’s - whatever it is, that immutable kernel that draws everyone into the trajectory of his burning trashfire of a life, a necessary corpse or fucked-out body beneath him. He needs it so bad. Map out the circumference of him and use it to patch up the cracks.
Someone plays a bad prank on the academy’s students, fuck-or-die style. Takumi and Gaku are caught in the crossfire.

Haru only has the strength for one passing thought: Asahi should just abandon him here and give his sports writer brother-in-law a hilarious story to spread around about how national record-breaker gold-medalist freestyle swimmer Haruka Nanase would rather sleep out in the street than attempt to clear any frigging stairs after getting back from the best relay of his career. Instead, though, Asahi’s using all his strength to keep him from sinking to his knees or thinking about giving up at all.
Asahi’s the one who gets down on a knee ahead of Haru after steadying him, turning around and flexing a bicep. “I don’t look the part, but I can definitely carry you all the way. All the years I spent working out my arms doing butterfly led up to this moment specifically!”
