Nicholas faked a smile, turned on his heel, and started toward his bedroom. Just as he began to shut the door, Milligan spoke up.
“I can read to you.”
Nicholas slowly turned to face the younger man.
“You’ll… read? To me?” Nicholas asked, his brows furrowed.
“Yes. Besides, it will be good practice since I am indeed a father now,” Milligan stated so casually like it was an everyday occurrence to read a bedtime story to your boss.
