Summary
“Todd,” she breathes. He sits up then, bringing his free hand to her cheek. She feels herself smile, sees him smile, absolutely beaming at her like she’s the only thing that exists in the world.

Summary
One day, Theo thinks, he’ll wake up and Boris won’t be there in the frigid air next to him; the sheets, so often tangled around his legs, will be loose and sliding to the floor. Theo will look out the window and see Boris on the horizon, just a shimmering mirage in the distant on the dusty road to nowhere. The thought hurts, not because Boris would be leaving, but because Theo wouldn’t be with him.
Which is stupid, honestly. Wherever Boris goes, Theo is going. Why wouldn’t he? And besides, Boris would never leave without him.

Summary
He was such an idiot. Could anyone blame him, though? He was just thirteen. He was just in love with the girl from the woods, the girl with superpowers and no concept of what a friend was. The girl who was trying her best. The girl who was gold and sunshine and ethereality all woven together.
Was.

Summary
They’re sitting on the rooftop, legs dangling over the front yard. The night is lit with Christmas lights, each house boasting their own variation of red, blue, green, and white. The air is cold, but the Bailey’s they’re passing back and forth is warm.
Steve stares up at the sky and its blanket of glitter. Could they really be fake? If stars are fake, does that mean the planets are fake too? Is the sun fake? And if all that is fake, are aliens real? Are black holes actually safe? Is there sound and oxygen in space?
“We’re so small,” Dustin murmurs. “You know?”

Summary
“I see it,” Will says quietly. “It’s real.”
There’s blood in the pool. So much blood. Wisps and streaks of it that dye the water purple. He blinks over and over and over, but it’s still there, vivid and impossible to ignore. The cotton suddenly clogging his chest tells him it’s real. He’s seen things for the last several years, visions and flashes and nightmares every time he closes his eyes, but they’ve never been real. Knowing that it was all in his fucked-up head was his one relief, but now he doesn’t even have that reassurance.
