    Summary

Before a traveler arrives, amidst a war of pride between Snezhnaya and Mondstadt, the famous Chief Alchemist gets captured by the Fatui, and they give him one simple instruction: as long as you play the piano, you will live; once you stop playing, you are to be executed.

What follows are hours filled with music that keeps The Balladeer, out of all harbingers, coming back. At first trying to make Albedo fail, then just… keeping him company. Until the last note is played.

If anything could resolve his guilt, it would be knowing that the other man resented him. However, Albedo, the kindest man he’d ever met, wasn’t going to do that.

    Summary

Aventurine’s eyes widen at the sight of him, then narrow. “Of course it’s you,” he snaps. “Is this supposed to be some kind of punishment for that gash in the sky? Trap me in a bubble and watch me go insane?”

Sunday folds his arms behind his back. “It is supposed to be a paradise,” he says. “Your consciousness should be folded into it. And yet you seem to have retained your original memories. I take it you aren’t responsible for that?”

“Paradise, huh,” Aventurine says, his lip curled in a grimace. “I’ve been in here for three days, and every moment of them made me feel like I was either being toyed with or just losing my fucking mind.”

(Aventurine's awake in paradise. Sunday gets a little obsessed. It doesn't go well for Aventurine. It doesn't go well for Sunday, either.)

    Summary

Marketed as the ‘land of love’ to those smitten enough to fall victim, the prerequisite for entry upon the Terra Amoris is about as baffling as it is laughable.
“—And somewhere along the way, we have to fake-date about it.” Aventurine adds wryly. There's no way to beat around the bush with this one. “An honourable role to play with you, if I may add. I was meaning to ask — does that mean I'm gonna get to hold your hand, doctor? Get a little cosy with you? I mean, we'll have to make pretty convincing lovers, right?”

Investigating strange new terrain across the cosmos, Aventurine and Ratio travel to the enchanting planet of Terra Amoris, where posing as a couple is their only ticket to entry. But as they navigate the planet’s strange rituals and unsettling gazes, they begin to suspect that the promise of eternal love hides a darker secret.

    Summary

“Could you tell me exactly what is troubling you?”

Aventurine makes a vague gesture. “Bad dreams. You’re probably familiar with it.”

“The touch of the Nihility affects everyone differently. Until I know your exact symptoms, I won’t be able to treat you.”

Aventurine closes his eyes, for a moment, and opens them. “Old memories,” he says, finally. “A lot sharper than they should be. Like I’m really there, watching it happen.”

(After Penacony, Aventurine's been having some bad dreams. He starts seeing a Doctor of Chaos about it. Ratio gets roped in to help. Aventurine's not happy about any of it; and anyway, it's all pointless, isn't it?)

    Summary

The man steps closer to check him. See which parts are worth salvaging, maybe. “Your optics are damaged.” A pause; maybe he’s looking elsewhere. “Are your legs malfunctioning? They appear to have sustained significant damage as well.”

“Servos broke down a few days ago. Probably still good for scrap, though.”

“Why would--ah. You think I intend to take you apart.”
