Summary
Linda meets Micke when she's fourteen. He's on the soccer team, and one of the most popular boys in school. Linda falls for him hard and fast.
She's sixteen the first time she gets pregnant, and seventeen the second time. She keeps her babies, her little darlings, but life is tough when you're a teen mom with two kids, two jobs, and a drug addicted boyfriend.
When Linda is thirty five her son falls in love with a prince, and suddenly her life gets a whole lot more complicated.

Summary
Clarke Griffin is a Soul Keeper – which is really just a fancy word for someone who helps souls pass from this world to whatever’s next when people die. She’s been doing it for a century and a half by now and she likes it. She’s gotten to see a lot of the world and made some amazing friends along the way. All in all, it’s been a pretty good life.
She’s also learned that getting involved with Norms – people who aren’t Soul Keepers and who are going to (grow old and) die at some point, unlike her – is not a good idea, despite what Raven keeps telling her.
So when a stranger pulls her out of the way of an oncoming cab on a New York street and it feels like time stops and lightning strikes all at once when she meets his eyes, she quickly writes it off. He’s not a Keeper, so he’s off limits.
But then they run into each other again two days later, and she starts to waver… until she sees his Number – 268, meaning he has less than nine months to live.
She makes up her mind to stay away from him, despite the feelings that have already started growing inside her.
