Summary
He’s embarrassed to find that he’s actually expecting a text or a call from Atsumu; he thought he was forward enough with putting the number on the coffee cup and reminding Atsumu to call him. He doesn’t see Atsumu for the next day or two and shrugs the rejection off, until Atsumu starts showing up.
And he keeps showing up. He sees Atsumu multiple times a week, sometimes bright and early while Sakusa’s on his morning shift, or grabbing a snack after volleyball practice, or settling in to study when he’s on his closing shifts and Sakusa can join him on his breaks. Atsumu brings awful pick-up lines and an even brighter smile with every pun.

Summary
Will’s face, barely visible in the dark of night— the theater had closed just a few minutes ago, removing the neon glare of the entrance signs and leaving only the parking lot lights to illuminate Will’s beauty. It was enough for Mike, however. Seeing just the slope of his nose and the curve of his lashes broke his heart into a million and one pieces, over and over again. As Will prepared to respond, Mike’s gaze flickered down to his pink, dampened lips, stained from the cherry Icee he'd had earlier. He was incomprehensibly, ineffably, beautiful.

“Wait, so—” Lucas’s voice was choked, disbelieving. “You jumped off a cliff? On purpose?”
Mike didn’t reply, too busy shoving his panic down as hard as he could, but the non-answer was as bad as an answer. “It’s not a big deal,” he finally managed.
“Uh, I’m pretty sure it is.” Now even Max was worried, why was everyone so worried? It. Didn’t. Matter. And he did not want to talk about it. “Like, the definition of a big deal.”

Summary
Jonathan makes it all of five steps before it all goes wrong.
Behind him, Will says, “Mike?”
Mike does not reply. Jonathan glances over his shoulder, mid-step, and pulls up short in confusion at what he sees. Mike is still by the van where the darkness is deepest, his white t-shirt dappled with darker shadows, standing stock-still. Unnervingly still. Stiller than Jonathan has ever seen him. No bouncing leg, no tapping finger, no nothing; he’s just standing there, staring down at his blood-covered hands in a faraway sort of fascination.
His wet blood-covered hands.
(or, jonathan's always known mike is willing to do a lot for his little brother. he just never understood exactly how much.)

Summary
Mike caps the cup and slides it across the pickup counter to Will, following it up with a wrapped straw and his wrapped lemon loaf immediately after. “Medium iced chai with oat milk and brown sugar syrup, and a lemon loaf for yellow flannel guy!”
Will grabs his straw, shooting a disapproving look at Mike as he carefully unwraps it. “Remind me to never wear this flannel in public again.” He grabs his drink, slipping his straw into it with steady hands.
“Nah, it looks nice on you. Don’t let me stop you, Just Will.” Mike is grinning so hard his face hurts. He’s more awake than he was previously, most of his exhaustion washing away throughout this interaction.
Will sighs, his cheeks going slightly red at Mike’s compliment, bringing his straw to his pink lips and taking a small sip. Mike watches Will’s gaze travel down to Mike’s chest, his eyes stopping on his name tag for only a second before they dip slightly lower. His lips quirk up into a small smile as he swallows his sip of chai. “I like your pin, by the way.”
