    Sophia Laforteza is a journalist who has been stuck in a researcher position for ‘The Riff’, one of the biggest pop culture columns in L.A., for the last four years. She has tried every trick in the book to climb the corporate ladder, but none of it has worked. With living expenses rising and her salary staying the same, the rope is starting to tighten around her neck. That is when, after a vague comment, her best friend Megan showed her an ad: FULL-TIME DOG SITTER NEEDED.

    Sophia almost laughed out loud, until Megan explained that this wasn’t just any regular dog-sitting position. It was a dog sitting for a burned-out pop star who had decided to move to the middle of nowhere after a nasty divorce from one of Hollywood’s top actors.

    A lot of theories came out of the divorce: cheating, mistreatment, substance abuse, insanity. Nobody really had the answer. Joshua Abrams had come out the other side as the golden boy he had always been perceived to be, but Daniela Avanzini? She just vanished from the public eye.

    She likes a boy. She is Daniela Avanzini. She likes a girl. She is Sophia Laforteza.

    What do you do when your childhood bestfriend gets a boyfriend?
    The Laforteza family and The Avanzini family had been friends for many years. They also happened to be neighbours. That wasn't a coincidence. Sophia remembers the day that Daniela was born. Okay that's a lie, Sophia doesn't PERSONALLY remember it, but Daniela's birthday has always been a big deal between the two housholds, considering Daniela was the Avanzini's only child compared to the Lafortezas who had three children.

    Regardless of the details, The Lafortezas and Avanzinis were inseparable. That was just a fact of the world. The sky is blue, grass is green, and The Lafortezas and Avanzinis were pretty much joined at the hip, no matter the generation.

    Daniela has never lived in a world without Sophia. Sophia has lived in a world without Daniela for 1 year and 6 months. It's safe to say, Sophia never wants to go back to a world without her Dani, even if she doesn't remeber it. Now, at the age of 22, Sophia has to watch Dani hangout with her new boyfriend and pretend she's not jealous. But Dani is happy, so everything is fine. Right?
