    “It’s food,” he says, his tone lacking its usual confidence. “I hunted it.”

    “We don’t eat squirrels, Inosuke! And even if we did, you can’t just drop a dead animal in the kitchen!” Aoi snaps, recoiling as she eyes the lifeless creature dangling from his hand. Inosuke tilts his head, seemingly confused by her reaction.

    “I…I got it for you.” he insists, shoving the squirrel towards Aoi again. She takes a step back, actively keeping herself from gagging. The blood dripping from the squirrel is disgusting, but the fact that he hunted it for her is…sweet. Kind of.
