Summary
Madara and Tobirama just don't get along. Their antagonistic relationship is something that the entire village knows about, and it's getting exasperating. After a particularly heated argument in front of the Yamanaka clan head, he performs a jutsu that allows them to feel each other's emotions. What happens when Tobirama and Madara both realize that the driving forces behind each others behaviors is different from what they originally thought?

Summary
The first time Madara sees Senju Tobirama show any kind of emotion is when Hashirama is seconds away from committing suicide. Tobirama struggles against the Mokuton vines keeping him in place and curses Hashirama, Madara, the gods, begs his brother to stop, to just listen, begs Madara to change his request. But Madara can’t bring himself to answer, to do anything but stare as a strange feeling of unease settles in the pit of his stomach.
In the end (or the beginning, is it now, of a whole new era of shaky peace?), Madara stops Hashirama’s kunai and tells himself it’s because he can’t bear to watch his old friend die.

How unseemly, he thought distantly. A pair of sandalled feet stepped into his field of vision then, blurry even at such a close distance. Oh. I suppose they came back to finish the job. Smart of them.
“To be brought down by a pair of fools.” A voice drawled. “You've grown so incredibly weak, haven't you Tobirama?”
Ah. That voice didn't belong to his would be killers. It was a familiar voice, albeit one he hadn't heard in a long, long time. Close to a decade now, maybe.
