Mu Qing rolls his eyes, a familiar flicker of disdain. "I started it last week. Does that matter to you?"
"No." Feng Xin lies, and drops to his knees.
He knows he can't ask Mu Qing to be exclusive; their relationship, if he can call it that, is just a series of long arguments occasionally interrupted by random hookups. He still has no idea what Mu Qing does for work, but he's at the courthouse often enough to be an infuriating presence in Feng Xin's professional routine. They trade glares and start petty fights during the day, only to rehash the same arguments again after hours.
Starting birth control seems like a significant step for a hookup, and the thought that Mu Qing might be doing it for anyone else — some newer, more stable partner — sent a bolt of possessiveness through Feng Xin. Hands holding tight enough to bruise, he traces the salt of the sweat on Mu Qing’s skin with his tongue, on his way to bite a ladder of marks up the inside of his thighs.
