Summary
“The end‑of‑year Showcase is in three weeks,” Danbury said.
“Sponsors, donors, alumni, critics. This year’s theme is Music as Theatre.” Michaela perked up. Francesca did not.
“You will perform a duo,” She added. “Together.” Silence.
Michaela blinked. “A duo? With her?”
Francesca’s voice was quieter but no less startled. “With her?”
“Yes,” Danbury snapped. “With each other. Do try not to look so horrified.”
Pianist Francesca Bridgerton × Violinist Michaela Stirling
They’re the Royal Academy of Music’s two brightest soloists who’ve never spoken. They have three weeks to create something that will turn out to be much more than music. -

Summary
Francesca follows her to the door, lingers by the threshold, clinging to the final seconds they have together.
"I must leave," Michaela says, a finality.
"You could stay," Francesca says, dimply optimistic.
Michaela smiles and kisses her cheek. It is about as pointless as asking the clouds to remain rooted to their place in the heavens. The next morning, the sky is a clear, ringing blue, and the windows bear nary a streak from the rain. The sun soaks the air in ways that beg anyone to step outside and enjoy its warmth. Francesca does not leave the house.

Summary
When she turns her head back towards the door, searching for the girl from the internet, she’s met with the sight of a breath-taking woman. Her hair is thick, yet straightened, curling around the tops of her shoulders. Even better, she wears a translucent lilac blouse that compliments her brown skin so beautifully. Francesca is certain this is who she was waiting for, but she waits for the confirmation.

Francesca Bridgerton finds equilibrium where she least expects it.

Summary
Five years.
Twenty matches.
One hotel, different floors and the kind of tension that has been mislabeled competitive awareness for far too long. Francesca and Michaela are the greatest rivalry in women's tennis — and, it turns out, each other's most inconvenient problem.
