then ten-year-old powder literally crashes into her.
powder is chaos in human form—loud, smart-mouthed, and newly admitted to the hospital for leukemia. she’s also the little sister of vi: an overworked, sleep-deprived eighteen-year-old who’s practically raising her siblings on her own while juggling two jobs and drowning in hospital bills.
vi is everything caitlyn’s not—messy, impulsive, and heartbreakingly real. she shouldn't care. she shouldn’t want more.
but soon, caitlyn finds herself looking forward to lunches with powder, hallway run-ins with vi, and late-night thoughts she can’t quite shake. and vi? she never thought she’d meet someone who looked at her like she wasn’t just barely holding it all together.
in a place where life is fragile and nothing is guaranteed, falling for someone feels like the biggest risk of all.
