Summary
a coming of age fic focused on regulus black.
this fic will be focused on regulus’s coming out and transition, his relationship with sirius and their reconciliation, moving forward from trauma, and healing. it is also a jegulus fic, but it comes later in the story.

general warnings for the fic: trauma discussion, transphobia/homophobia, parental abuse, mentions of violence, death (not anyone in the main cast, just a mentioned character), grief, anger outbursts and issues, and some angst. be sure to read notes before each chapter if things change!
also, even though sirius is nonbinary and uses they/them in the fic, i will be referring to them and regulus as the black brothers, and sirius will say they are regulus’s brother.
chapters are not updated on a schedule, just when i get them written :)

Summary
this is a collection of all the stories that take place in the same universe as my fic 'a beginner's mind'. i wrote a beginner's mind to be mostly a character study on regulus and coming of age story about the black brothers and their reconciliation. however, i also wanted to expand on ABM and write side stories that are either only mentioned in ABM or just one-liners. since i couldn't fet them into ABM itself without changing the core of what the fic is supposed to represent, i decided to make them their own stories!

Oh, how he aches.Or; The familiar bluesy twang of string accompanied by sharp pains that rattle in his stomach are the only two things that Remus Lupin has ever really known. Born from two muses, it’s all that he’s really had to know. That is, until he happens upon Sirius Black. Tragedy ensues.

“When you were my age, a.k.a eleven,” he smiles from behind the camera. “What did you want to be? Like, when you were my age, what did you think you’d be doing now that you’re one hundred and thirty?”
Remus can be seen wringing out Teddy’s swim shorts. He throws them down onto the railing, letting the sun dry them. Turning towards the camera, he leans onto the railing.
“Turn that off,” he asks. “Enough of the camera, put it down for now, Teds.”
The 1990's finds Remus and Teddy on a father and son holiday through Turkey in a desperate last attempt to reconnect with one another.
