“I’ve noticed” Will murmurs knowingly, smiling. “And I appreciate it more than you know”
“I can’t help but assume that you’ve also held some inconvenient compassion for me”
“It is quietly morphing into something more convenient as each day passes” Will whispers softly. “I’ll take care of you” He muses, even more softly.
Hannibal closes his eyes, humming softly along with the music. After a moment, he shifts a little. “As Orestes said, ‘it’s rotten work’”, he replies, with a sniffle.
“And as Pylades said back…. ‘Not to me. Not if it’s you’” Will sighs softly, planting a soft kiss into Hannibal’s hair. He was sure that he would remember this night for the rest of his days.Hannibal Lecter is suffering from the flu, and he has a strong fear of getting sick. Despite this, he has arranged to have dinner with his favorite patient, Will Graham. As he is unable to maintain his usual facade of perfection, he allows Graham to take care of him in a comforting and unfamiliar manner.

Summary
Will’s routine had recently gained a new inclusion: encephalitis-induced nightmares. Often, the shaky and feverish man would wake up in his bed, completely drenched in sweat. However, this night, Will found himself in the same state, except in front of Dr. Lecter’s front door. He had already raised his fist and knocked on the door while in his encephalitis episode and couldn’t leave quickly enough to escape his psychiatrist. Hannibal opened the door, finding the distraught man in a way that he had never seen him before, and realized that in an attempt to cope with the horrors of his encephalitis, his brain had retreated into a mindset of a younger age. Hannibal, while tempted to exploit this, slowly grew quite fond of Will’s sweetness.
