Summary
It is a matter of give and take, love, they say. You are not supposed to give everything to a person and spare nothing for yourself—that’s another thing. Mutualism is a symbiotic relationship where two interacting species receive an equal amount of benefit, that’s how loving someone should be. But that is not the case for Patroclus, he simply believes that he was not meant to consume that way, that he’s only born to be devoured—bones and all, he’d willingly give his soul if he is asked to. He’s a selfless, selfless, selfless kind of man—because who would do such selfless acts in order to feel some sense of self-worth other than him? I know you know but I’d rather not say. Patroclus knew he had already given his all, but with Achilles? Oh, his Achilles…he’d worship him like a god and burn for him. He’d push past his limits to serve Achilles, only for Achilles. As long as he is fed so well—in every aspect, all for Achilles.
