The words are soft, barely audible, even in the quiet room; but Kurogane still feels his teeth grind together.

Basically, the one where Kurogane is angry and lonely and so far from home, and Fai pretty much just hates himself; and they agree on something casual, since they both really need the distraction, and since they’re going to be traveling together, anyway.
In other words, the one where they’re not supposed to fall in love, and then they really, really do.
(A/N: This is essentially me trying to write a world-by-world story [spanning all the way from Hanshin to Piffle] on how these two darlings could get together.)
