Summary
She remembered the exact moment she felt her fingernails dig into the soft flesh of Vi’s neck. Caitlyn had been on top of her, Vi’s entire back pressed onto the carpet. They pushed against each other, palms slamming into cheeks, hair being torn out by the fistful. There was a puddle of vomit next to them that they were narrowly avoiding while they rolled on the floor in a heap of limbs and bared teeth.
Caitlyn had wrapped her hands around Vi’s neck and squeezed. Even in the dark, she could see the blood running down the girl’s neck. She certainly felt it— hot, sticky, and wet underneath her fingers. Caitlyn didn’t let go until Vi had muttered out a pitiful please.
She never apologized. Maybe she should now.
“How is your semester going?” Caitlyn asked instead of apologizing.
