Buck and Tommy have been back to work for about three months when Bertie turns six months old. He can’t believe his baby is half a year old already! They have a party in the backyard to celebrate, members of the 118, the 217, and the 133 mingling and passing the guest of honor around. Buck is glad they have a relatively large yard, because it turns out that three firehouses adds up to a lot of people. They have Bertie’s pack and play out on the lawn, but she doesn’t end up spending any time in it, thanks to all the people wanting to hold her.

"I missed you, too," Phil said. "I'm sorry, Clint. God, I missed you too." Clint sniffed, loosening his grip enough for Phil to take a deep breath.
Then he took another, closing his eyes and inhaling slowly, because Clint smelled fantastic.
