Reimi raises her eyebrows at him. His silence probably weirds her out, he thinks and tugs self-consciously on his collar, nearly snatching the wire of his mic loose. The only way for Red Blood Cell AE3803 to keep her Neutrophil friend U-1146 lucid and to keep him from going to join the slaughter is to quarantine him away from the front lines. In other words: to keep themselves and everyone else safe from COVID-19, they must stay safely inside until the emergency passes.

Red's a transfer student from a community college, and she hardly has any clue about what she wants in life. All she knows for sure is she's here to make friends and has a love-hate relationship with her part-time job as a food-delivery driver. She's a smart and tough cookie! She's confident she'll eventually figure all of it out, even if she messes up here and there.
White's an immunology major with a set path on helping as many people as he can with his knowledge. Not only that--he's at this university on a military reserve scholarship too. He's brilliant and strong, but social awkwardness is his Achilles' heel. Despite that, he's ready to face the challenges that university life presents him.
The two meet by fate, if fate took the form of a poor air-headed girl getting lost every three turns or so. What should've been one meeting turns into two, and three, and more than they'd ever realize. Friendship is always found in the most unexpected places and times, and so is love.
[The entirety of this AU will follow Red and White, which is what I've named the RBC/WBC throughout their entire university year!]
