“Yeonjun is obviously a pretentious asshole who thinks he’s too good for sugary coffee and the holiday spirit!” Soobin seethes as he paces back and forth behind the counter once he’s closed up for the night.
“For someone obsessed with all things Christmas, you sure are being a major Grinch right now,” Beomgyu snorts.
Soobin sputters. “Yeonjun is the Grinch! He’s the one ruining the Christmas spirit!”
Or: Yeonjun is a repeat customer at the café Soobin works at despite seemingly hating every holiday drink Soobin makes for him. Soobin is on a mission to find out why.

“Please tell me you didn’t seriously consider cyber-bullying some dumb frat boy because he made me cry five years ago.”
In hindsight, it probably hadn’t been the best thing to say. Viktor’s face darkens, eyes hardening into flint. Yuuri reaches out to pet Makkachin’s fur to give himself something to do before navigating this minefield.
Alternatively: Viktor hates the fact that some people have treated Yuuri less than stellar. Yuuri tries to rein in his fiancé’s dramatics.

“I didn’t know you were back. It’s good to see you, Jungkook.” Seokjin gives him a delicate look, like Jungkook would fall apart right before his eyes if Seokjin didn’t soften his words.
“You too,” Jungkook says. He isn’t sure if he means it.
Or: Jungkook hasn’t seen Seokjin in over two years until he runs into him back in his hometown. It’s not easy being around the person who broke your heart, especially when you might not be completely over them. Jungkook learns this the hard way.

“Nope, I’m definitely here,” Jungkook says, which means Seokjin must have said that last part out loud, unless Jungkook had tapped into some previously unknown telepathic skills over the few days they had been apart during the break. “In your disease-infested apartment,” he continues warily.

His eyes are wide and hopeful, and he’s still got that dazed look on his face and a lopsided grin and flushed cheeks. He’s everything Bucky wants, and he has to physically force out the soft, “I don’t think that’s a good idea, Stevie,” that doesn’t want to leave his mouth.
