"The Federation is going to get everything I'm saying, right?" The survivor's voice was raw as she rubbed a swollen eye. She was defeated, even though Samus hadn't lifted an armored finger towards her.
"No," Samus straightened, crossing her arms. Her visor flickered. "They're not the ones bleeding on my ship."
Perhaps the words didn't mean much to the woman, there was no comfort here.
Just the two of them. Alone in space.

"... MacKenzie, what did you just say?" Reger's words caused Myles's body to tense up, and he could feel the blood rushing to his face as he slowly turned towards the sniper.
"I said that out loud." Myles buried his face in his hands as the realization sunk in.

Summary
Regerseemed to have a rather odd interest in Myles - well, odd for the sniper, that is. Maybe it was because Myles knew more about the Lamorn culture than the other troopers, or maybe it was because his chattiness did most of the heavy lifting during their conversations. But Myles noticed that Reger had a tendency to glance over at the engineer and let his gaze linger on him, and Myles wasn't quite sure what that was about.
