Summary

His lips are soft against yours, his hand warm against your skin as he reaches up to cup the back of your neck. His hands are soft, delicate, holding you in a way that’s purposefully gentle, but firm enough to ache a little when he wants it to. You gasp a little as his other hand loops around your waist, digging into the flesh of your side and drawing you closer to him. He doesn’t falter at the sudden interruption, just presses harder against you, undeterred.
Your heart is pounding when he draws away, his hand still on the back of your neck. Armin’s face is still just as calm as it’s always been, without a trace of the nervousness currently coursing through your veins. He’s collected, calculated, but something glimmers behind his eyes that wasn’t there before. Some fire’s just been set under him, some passion ignited that you can tell by his expression that he’s determined to follow.

“That who I think it is?” the voice in your earpiece says.
Then you find him. Jean stands by the closed double doors of the ballroom, surveying the room because that’s his job tonight: to watch.
Your eyes meet. Your nod is small, but he catches it. He raises his hand to his ear. “Don’t fuck it up, alright?” he says. “I’d like to be in bed by midnight.”
