After the smell hits her, the sound follows next. It’s that loud animalistic chomping and tearing that anyone consuming human flesh is forced to make. There’s no eating someone with etiquette – at least, not to Lottie’s knowledge, not the way she’s always done it.
Anyone else would run at the smell and the sound, but Lottie walks towards it.
