Summary
A response to what Akutagawa had told him that day on the ship, when he’d fully intended to die, and then somehow didn’t; a twisted joke, for Akutagawa to survive only to watch the weretiger sacrifice his own life in return. What had the weretiger been thinking, at that moment? Had he really been so idiotic to believe that the action was a debt that needed to be repaid?
It irked Akutagawa to no end. Who did that weretiger think he was?

Summary
It had always been unspoken, from when Chifuyu had first met Baji back in middle school to the day that Kazutora was released from prison, that in a world full of choices, Baji would always, always choose Kazutora. That was just the way it was, and the way it always had been, and Chifuyu knew as much; he had worked so hard to establish himself in Baji’s life, but how could he ever compare to the quiet yet feral mutuality that existed between Baji and Kazutora? It was something that Chifuyu knew he would never understand, and the thought alone destroyed him.
Chifuyu didn’t hate Kazutora, but he sure as hell didn’t exactly like him, either.

Summary
When Kazutora had walked out of that detention center with nothing but the clothes on his back and a plastic grocery bag holding the menial possessions he still had to his name, he truly expected that it would be his last day on earth.
Except Chifuyu had been waiting for him, parked across the street with a welcoming smile on his face, so unabashedly human, and Kazutora’s entire perception of existence had flipped on its head.

Summary
Inupi was a terrible person, because he never wanted Koko to leave. He wanted to shackle their wrists together, keep them connected at the hip for all of eternity, because who was Inupi without Koko? Who was Koko without Inupi? They only had each other, both within the safety of that moment and outside of the hideout, and if Inupi was going to drown, he would take Koko with him. He would do the same. He would do anything for Koko if it meant that they were never apart.

“I made Baji, too,” Chifuyu mumbled, “but the dumb fuck ate it before I got to show you, so. I just barely stopped him from getting ahold of yours.” Baji shrugged innocently, and Chifuyu’s soft grin was unmissable. “But thank you.”
“I’m gonna make you, then,” Kazutora declared, pulling the least-deformed gingerbread person off of the tray that they had been cooling on, and he licked stray icing off of his fingertips before getting to work on his newest masterpiece: the Chifuyu cookie.
