Summary
For a rebel with absolutely no respect for authorities, Dean Winchester had a surprising arsenal of rules. No chick flick moments, no eating fish in roadside-diners, and most importantly, driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole.
When it was Sam’s turn to drive, the car was filled with Pear Jam and Bon Jovi (Dean pretended not to notice the Celine Dion cassette tape stashed in the bottom of the glove compartment, which was always left a mess whenever Sam came back from a shopping trip).
Castiel, however, never seemed to take advantage of the rule. There were times after especially exhausting hunts when Dean actually sighed with relief as he stumbled to the passenger seat, throwing the keys at the angel and allowing his eyes to flutter closed as soon as he sat down, his head rolling to the window. He was lulled to sleep by the rumble of his Baby’s engine and the familiar sounds of Physical Graffiti, volume just enough for the songs to be easily recognizable yet without shaking the drowsiness away.
