He was told that she could go home with him, as long as she walked behind him and he swore not to turn to see if she was following. But he lost faith and turned to look at her, and so she had to stay in the underworld forever.”
Riza is very still in his arms. “Why are you telling me this?”
“Because I know that I wouldn’t.”
“Wouldn’t what?”
“I wouldn’t turn around,” Roy swallows hard. “I would have faith that you were following.”
