The room was silent as he stared at the teacher, waiting for a response. After a moment, the teacher’s tired eyes brightened with mirth and a manic smile spread on his lips prompting the blond teen to laugh awkwardly “haha…r-right Mr Aizawa???”

Summary
All For One attacked Class 1-A while they were immensely unprepared. They all looked to Midoriya to follow his lead and he failed them.
Dead. They're all dead.
Children, sent out to fight a war, were all dead. As Midoriya basked in the nothingness he believes he can finally rest peacefully but instead he wakes up at the USJ over a year into the past with a new found hatred for Shigaraki and All For One.
OR
The entirety of Class 1-A dies but Midoriya is sent back to the start of his first year at UA and decides to make sure his present doesn't become this Class 1-A's future.

Summary
All his life, Midoriya Izuku has only ever been taught what he cannot be. He cannot be a hero. He cannot be a boy. And he most certainly, cannot ever hope to beat the statistics.
Living in the bad parts of downtown Musutafu has taught Izuku more things than Aldera ever hoped to. He’s learned that it’s easier to keep your head down. It’s easier to keep out of Inko’s way when she was drunk. He’s learned that it’s easier to give up hope instead of holding onto some meaningless childhood dream. Because a quirkless Deku could never hope to ever become something more than a statistic.
But he’s always been nothing if not stubborn. If all he would ever be is a statistic that is prophesied, destined almost, to die before he’s 18, then he’ll at least die trying to be a hero. He refused to keel over and give up before he even crossed the starting line.
And, well, if he does end up as a statistic, at the very least, he can say that he tried.
Series
