Summary
It is right after the finally of season 2 where Vox gets defeated and is now very depressed. He isn’t shown much on camera anymore, isn’t active anymore and the vee’s try their best to get him to stay motive and do something again. Unfortunately for Alastor, Vox doesn’t even try fighting anymore. And Al gets mad. In an attempt to clear his head, Alastor decided to clean up a bit.
Alastor is at the hotel in his tower cleaning up some stuff he hadn’t seen or wanted to clean up in a long time. During that time he comes past some old memories with Vox that make him a bit emotional. He also comes past the one wish willow he had bought once in the 90’s when he had a break down because he yearned and missed the old Vox so badly. Al decided to snap it and wish for Vox to love him more than anyone else in the entire universe. Al thought it was stupid and just went back to his desk, not knowing what effect he suddenly had on Vox…

Vox felt a pair of eyes on him. He glanced across the table and saw blood red eyes boring into him. Vox felt slightly uncomfortable and yet intrigued at the attention. He felt a sort of…draw towards the deer sinner, like a shared frequency. It felt as if he had known this man forever. But how could that be? This was their first meeting.
The Overlord's eery grin stretched impossibly wider when he caught Vox's gaze. A shiver ran down Vox's spine
What the fuck? Who the hell even is this guy?
After their fallout, Vox develops Hanahaki Disease. It steadily gets worse until a particularly violent episode during Alastor's absence spurs Vox into finally getting treatment.
Seven years later, Vox and Alastor meet again.

Charlie took a deep breath. “We believe Vox committed suicide. The Vees have given their statement. They say he became increasingly unstable during his campaign and snapped after Alastor tricked him into breaking their deal. The suicide was not premeditated, but impulsive.”
Alastor tried to force himself to move, but the electric signals firing in his brain weren’t reaching his limbs. He wanted to scream, but the air was trapped in his chest. Every cell in his body was dying, the blood stagnating under his skin, unshed, unwept. He turned the words over in his head. Suicide. Dead. Vox is dead. Vox committed suicide. Dead, dead, dead. Vox is dead? Dead. Suicide. He killed himself. He’s gone. Dead. None of it stuck long enough to process. The moment the thought entered his mind it flitted away like a bird, clean and transparent and intangible, little ghosts sliding through his fingers.

Or, an alternate ending to S2 where everything is the same except Vox dies before Valentino can rip his head off. Alastor is left alone to deal with the aftermath and confront what Vox actually meant to him, and why his loss is so devastating.

When Kakashi has an odd dream about Obito messing up during training, as usual, he simply thinks he’s been spending too much time with the bumbling moron. When Kakashi watches his dream play out in real-time, he reasons with himself that it was simply a memory processing error—he’s seen Obito’s blunders so often that his brain was misremembering things. It was the dream of Rin spilling ramen on Obito during a “mandatory team bonding exercise” Minato-sensei has them do every month that shook him. He had watched it play-out in real time last night. There was nothing he could do to stop it, either. He knew what they would say before they said it and his knee jerked under the bar top in an attempt to react before the bowl had even hit Obito’s lap. He brushed it off as a fluke. A one-off. An accidental twist of fate.
Then it was Guy’s newest training regime. Asuma was caught smoking. Inoichi’s marriage contract had been confirmed. Rescuing the newest member of his ninken.
One time is happenstance, twice is a coincidence. Anything past that has Kakashi assuming intent.
And it’s been way past twice.
