It’s the last day of summer, and Kenma thinks he should say something when Kuroo’s looking at him like that, like it’s the last time he’ll be seeing Kenma and Kenma will be seeing him.
He kicks Kuroo’s leg instead. “What’s so funny?” Kenma says, even though he knows Kuroo isn’t laughing, even though he knows that semi-permanent smirk on Kuroo’s face is just there by default and not indicative of any true emotion.
Kuroo kicks Kenma’s leg back anyway. “Nothing,” he says, even though he tears his gaze away from Kenma a second too late, even though he knows this will give him away.
