Yūji exhales a laugh that sounds fractured.
"You look dead."Satoru stills, observing him and his cursed energy carefully. "They're hunting you."
"I know."
"You left."
Yūji finally looks at him then—eyes sharp, aching.
"I stayed. You just weren't there."The distance between them is heavy with everything that was left unsaid: grief, devotion, the kind of love that grew teeth when left to grow and fester.
"If you're here to stop me," Yūji starts, his voice almost gentle. "you'll have to kill me yourself."
Satoru steps closer instead. Smiles like a threat. A promise. "Yūji," he says, low and ruined. "I've never been good at letting you go."
Itadori Yūji's defect from Jujutsu Society isn't a choice. It's a sentence already passed. And when the world tries to take Yūji, it will have to kill Satoru twice to succeed.
