    The finality in Ferran's words hit Pedri like a ton of bricks. Pedri felt a tear slip down his cheek. He quickly wiped it away, not wanting to appear weak. Pedri nodded numbly even though the older couldn’t see it, swallowing hard to push down the sob that threatened to escape while he walked to the door. With his hand on the handle he paused, casting one last glance back at Ferran. “It was real to me, Ferran,” Pedri murmured softly, more to himself than to Ferran, his vision blurring with more tears.
