Summary
Buck’s pacing Eddie’s front porch with his stomach in knots. He doesn’t know what he’s doing just that Maddie had told him if he didn’t talk to Eddie instead of her six month old, she was going to record every word of the next time Buck ranted to baby Nash and send it to Eddie.
So, here he was, feeling like a selfish idiot because why was he so worked up over this? Eddie was his best friend and that didn’t mean he couldn’t have other friends, especially when the said friend was Hen. It wasn’t like it was with Tommy except.. maybe it was?

Buck switched over the voice mails, a smile tugging at his lips.
“Buck,” Eddie’s voice heard of the chatter of the airport. “What do you mean dinner is in the fridge? Answer your phone please.”
The next one came nearly an hour later.
“Buck!” Eddie hissed down the phone. “Are you serious right now? I – shit Buck! Thank you. Thank you so – god you are so… oh fuck. I – god damn it Buck!”
Buck laughed at that one, shaking his head.

Buck cooks Thanksgiving dinner for Eddie and Eddie has his OH moment.

Summary
“It’s interesting,” he continues, keeping his voice mild. “You’ve been either not looking at me at all, or looking at me like—”
This grabs Buck’s attention. He stops in his tracks, and a fork clatters into the cutlery tray as he stiffens, and darts another glance. This one lingers for a fraction of a second longer before it cuts away, and then flies back, and Eddie meets it with a resolute calm.
“Like what?” Buck asks, whisper-delicate as a dragonfly’s wings. His eyes widen, impossibly blue and nervously panicked. His fingers curl into his palms. He swallows again.
Eddie says, “Like you’re in love with me.”
(Or, Eddie pays attention.)

Summary
The joke made sense when Buck said it.
"You can’t die on me, Eds. I’m not ready to be a single parent.”
He was Christopher’s legal guardian, so he would, technically, be a single parent if Eddie died. The joke doesn't make as much sense when Eddie says it.

OR: The 118 find out about the will and start a running joke about Eddie being careful otherwise Buck would end up as a single parent. Eddie tries to make the same joke.
