Summary
“I didn’t quite catch that, Mr. Sheffield,” Fran said impatiently.
Maxwell sighed. “I told him we were something of an item,” he admitted, bracing himself for another attack. When none came, he looked up. Fran was simply staring at him, eyes flashing with hurt.
**********
Four times Maxwell gets in the way of Fran's dates, and one time he doesn't.

Summary
When the NCIS team realizes their murder cases might be connected to identical homicides in New York, they end up partnering with the NYPD's 12th precinct to catch a killer who's been irritatingly one step ahead of them from the beginning. While they work together to solve the case, chaos, tomfoolery, kindness, tension, and a whole lot more ensues.

Summary
Fran turned around as Maxwell came up to her, holding the sweater up to his chest and tilting her head as she surveyed.
“Oh, you absolutely need to try this on,” she whispered, eyes wide.
Maxwell opened his mouth to resist, but the look in her eyes stopped him. He couldn’t quite place the emotion in them, but he suddenly decided he wanted to see it more.
**********
Fran and Max take on Loehmann's and she convinces him to try on a sweater. He looks irritatingly good in it.
***Edit: I accidentally turned this into a multi-chapter thing... soooo after the first chapter it is no longer "short" oops

Summary
Fran watched him squirm and smirked. She wasn’t sure what she was going to do with him, if she was honest. She wasn’t really all that hurt by his accusations. She understood where it came from. She would probably be threatened too if she found out that a hot, rich blonde hit on him at a club, bought him a drink, and tried to dance with him. She would be especially jealous if she found out he took that blonde’s phone number, even if it was out of trying to avoid a scene.
**********
Maxwell gets jealous because some guy gave Fran his number at the club, and Fran sets the record straight. This is fully inspired by Shania Twain's song, "Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)".

Summary
"Outside, C.C. Babcock found herself standing bereft on the front step, staring blankly out at the darkening street. She slowly sunk down onto the concrete step, hands falling numbly at her sides. What the hell had just happened? She tried to patch things up with Niles, failed miserably, listened as he all but laid out her future for her like some glorified psychic janitor, realized he wasn’t even wrong, quit her job, and walked out."
******
A fill-in for the missing scene between Niles and C.C.'s fight and them being discovered in bed together in the Dummy Twins episode. As if there isn't plenty of these already. But, I couldn't resist. C.C. freaks out, she cries, Niles cries, there's confessions, there's reconciliation.

"He wasn't a praying man, but every day in May for the last three years, he had sent a little hope out into the night air from his back porch, like a protective psalm."
